3. What Does an Elevator Counterweight Include?

An elevator counterweight will consist of the following main components:
- Counterweight Frame: a mechanical frame to place the counterweights in, keeping them fixed.
- Counterweight Block: also known as the Counterweight Cast Iron Board, made of concrete or metal, to create weight and strength for the counterweight.

- Counterweight Shoe: also known as elevator slide shoe, elevator guide shoe is a specialized device that helps the cabin and counterweight slide on the rail, so that the elevator can go up and down at high speed in the most precise way.

4. Where should the elevator counterweight be installed?

There are 2 positions to install counterweight for elevator:

+ Rear counterweight: is the counterweight placed behind the family elevator cabin, it is opposite the elevator door.
The advantage of this type of counterweight is that it is suitable for all types of elevators, from family elevators, apartment elevators, hotel elevators... the aesthetics of the elevator with a rear counterweight is also quite nice, does not take up the area of the frame surrounding the counterweight.
